SPECPOL

Background

Special Political and Decolonization (SPECPOL) is one of the six general assembly committees of the United Nations. SPECPOL the combination of “Decolonization” and “Special Political” committees, which are combined with the adjustment of the “International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism”. Since then, SPECPOL is operated by the United Nations to take action for peace and serenity in all over the world. Currently, most of the discussion topics for SPECPOL is the significant problems in the Middle East which affects whole policy among UN countries.
In SOBILMUN’20, the delegates will be discussing the long-standing problems in the Middle East. More specifically, the delegates are expected to be creative while discussing and find effective solutions which will aid finish the ongoing major conflicts; The Israeli–Palestinian conflict which is existing since early 20th century that arises from claims of Arabs and Jews in the same land and the conflict between Uyghurs and China that is ongoing since the 1930s which has the reason of ethnic conflict.

  2. Addressing the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
